Let’s get started

We’re so glad you’re planning a visit to S. Kamphuis Blueberries!

  • 2 locations
    We offer both U-Pick and Pre-Picked blueberries at the Main Farm and The Shack.

  • 4 blueberry varieties
    We farm Duke, Bluecrop, Blue Ray, and Liberty blueberries throughout the season.

  • 1 big year. 1 sweet season.
    Our Farm Store opens June 25, with blueberry season beginning (tentatively) July 9. It’s our 85th year—and we’ve created a season full of moments worth celebrating. We can’t wait to welcome you out to the farm.

Meet the berries

duke

  • Light, firm, and delightfully mild— this berry kicks off the U-pick season!

  • Duke is ready in early to mid July and typically has a shorter season. Be ready, this berry is worth it!

  • U-pick at S. Kamphuis Farms and The Shack.

Liberty

  • Liberty blueberries boast a unique, bold flavor and sky blue color—perfect for preserves, baking, and snacking.

  • Available late July - early August.

  • U-pick at S. Kamphuis Farms and The Shack.

Bluecrop

  • Firm, sweet, and dusted with a beautiful powder blue hue— it’s a little bit magical. Great for muffins and pancakes and just about anything else!

  • Bluecrop is typically ready mid July-mid August

  • U-pick at S. Kamphuis Farms and The Shack.

    Pre-pick available at S. Kamphuis Farms and The Shack.

Blueray

  • Blueray blueberries are very large and super sweet– perfect for snacking!

  • Blueray is typically available mid-July to mid-August.

  • U-pick at S. Kamphuis Farms ONLY

    Not available for pre picked at either location.

  • We keep things simple. We accept:

    • Credit Cards

  • We’re open as long as there aren’t severe storms. A hot summer day or a little rain won’t stop blueberry picking!

    If weather forces us to close, we’ll post updates on our social media pages. Speaking of which… have you followed us yet? It’s the best way (besides our newsletter) to get quick updates from the fields.

  • Yes! Restroom and handwashing facilities are available for your convenience.

  • We ask that you use the buckets we provide. Our scales are set to match the weight of those buckets so everyone is weighed fairly. Plus, they’re the perfect size for berry picking!

  • First of all—nice work! 🎉
    Bring your filled buckets to the weigh station, where our team will weigh your berries and get them ready for you to take home.

  • As much as we love furry friends, pets aren’t allowed in the blueberry fields. Blueberries and wagging tails don’t always mix very well, and we want to keep the fields clean and safe for everyone.

  • No need to bring containers. We provide paper bags so you can safely carry your berries home and start planning blueberry pancakes, muffins, or pie.

  • We love having families here! Just make sure children stay with you at all times so everyone stays safe and no little pickers wander off into the berry jungle.

  • Come comfortable and casual. Our blueberry rows are well maintained and mowed, but this is still a farm after all. Think comfy shoes, clothes you don’t mind getting a little berry juice on, and maybe a hat for those sunny Michigan days

  • It depends on how fast you pick—and how many berries make it into your mouth instead of the bucket! Most people can fill a bucket in 20–40 minutes, but many families like to take their time and enjoy the experience.

  • Ah yes… the classic question. A few berries for “quality control” while you pick is perfectly fine. Just remember the goal is to get most of them into your bucket!
